Smart Pension — management fees and portfolio review
The Smart Pension add-on shows a snapshot of pension, savings, and insurance products from the pension clearing-house ZIP. After you upload the file you can see estimated management fees, products worth reviewing, and request a no-obligation portfolio review.
Before you start: the add-on must be enabled for your business, and you need to upload at least one clearing ZIP on the Smart Pension data page.
Choose the screen you use in SmartBill:
- Choose Financial Future in the side menu, or open Plugins and choose Financial Future. Inside the add-on this is the Overview tab.
- Check Portfolio highlights: balances and annual management fees.
- Under Actions to take, pick the next step — for example reviewing high fees or uploading a missing file.
- In Your management fees, see estimated yearly cost, potential saving, and products tagged Worth reviewing.
- Tap Potential saving for a calculation summary and contact form, or Worth reviewing on a product to request a review for that product.
- Fill in name, phone, and note, then send.
- You can also open Pension & savings to see fees highlighted on each product.
- Tap the account photo and choose Financial Future, or open Plugins and choose it there.
- Check Portfolio highlights and Actions to take.
- Scroll to Your management fees, then tap Potential saving or Worth reviewing.
- Fill in name, phone, and note in the contact form, then send.
- After confirmation, open Pension & savings for the per-product breakdown.
Tax and deposits for the self-employed
Link to section: Tax and deposits for the self-employedThe Tax & deposits tab answers two questions: how much the law requires you to deposit to a pension, and how much is worth depositing to a pension and a study fund to save tax this year.
- Inside Financial Future, choose Tax & deposits in the add-on menu.
- In Your income, check your yearly business profit. It is calculated from the incomes and expenses already recorded. To change it, click Update income & expense estimate and update the yearly estimate.
- If you also have a salary, click Fill in the credit points questionnaire and answer the salary question. Payslip deposits lower your requirement as self-employed.
- The legal minimum shows the mandatory deposit for the year, what you already deposited, and what is left.
- The Pension and Study fund cards show the deposit that gets the full tax benefit, how much more you can deposit, and how much tax you’ll save.
- For help, click Get help with deposits at the bottom of the tab and send the form.
- Open Financial Future and tap Tax & deposits in the add-on menu.
- Check your yearly profit. To change it, tap Update income & expense estimate.
- Also have a salary? Tap Fill in the credit points questionnaire.
- Scroll to the minimum, pension, and study fund cards.
- Tap Get help with deposits to send a request.
You can also get here from the Dashboard: in the Savings & insurance card, click Deposits & saving tips. Every other tile in that card opens the matching Smart Pension screen.
What to keep in mind
Link to section: What to keep in mind- The estimate is based on clearing-house data and is not pension advice.
- Lowering fees is done with the insurer or investment house and requires a licensed agent or advisor.
- If an open request was already sent recently, the system will not create a duplicate and will show that the request was already received.
- Fees are rebuilt from the stored clearing file when you open the overview; re-upload only if the source file itself changed.
- Tax and deposit figures are estimates based on this year’s ceilings. Deposits come from the clearing file and include salary deposits, if any, so upload a recent file. The final split is set in the annual report.
