Payment links and checking payments

Payments is for collecting money from your customers. It is separate from your own SmartBill subscription. Availability depends on your business’s payment connection and access.

Choose the screen you use for SmartBill:

  1. Open Payments and the payment links list (which may be labeled דפי תשלום).
  2. Choose a single-use or reusable link for your purpose.
  3. Enter a description, amount or items, and check the assigned customer and link limits.
  4. Confirm creation and copy the link to send to the customer.

If you set VAT type under Advanced options to before VAT (which may be labeled לפני מע״מ), the amount you enter excludes VAT and the customer is charged that amount plus VAT. The same applies to recurring payments and to charging a customer’s saved card.

After payment, check the status and transactions in Payments. Opening a link alone does not confirm payment. If the connection is inactive, follow the on-screen instructions or contact support.

Under Advanced options, the After payment section sets what the customer sees once the payment is confirmed:

  • Standard: the regular confirmation page with the invoice download.
  • Message: your own text, up to 500 characters, under the confirmation. Addresses that start with https:// become links. Only customers who paid see it.
  • Redirect: after a short confirmation, the customer is taken to your page, such as a landing page for a class. Enter the full address, for example https://example.com/class.

The customer is sent to your page only after the payment is confirmed, but the page itself is open to anyone who has its address. Do not put content there that only paying customers should get; use a message for that. The setting is chosen when you create the link and appears in the link details. To change it, create a new link.

In Payments and the recurring payments list (which may be labeled הוראות קבע), choose a monthly or annual frequency when creating one. Under Advanced options you can pick a future First charge date. Cancelled recurring payments are hidden from the list by default; to see them, select Cancelled in the status filter.
